"How many costume changes are you gonna go through? What is this, Vegas?" -Dash
"Oh man, I'm one make-over away from blowing my secret identity! Good thing Dash is a total moron." -Danny Phantom

Behold, my new art experiment: Redrawing screencaps from Danny Phantom episodes. Or at least getting the general idea down. This occurs after Danny pulls Dash up to the window and then has his hair partly change color (due to his gradually losing power, he's gradually losing his superhero form). When I saw this, I nearly died laughing, because Danny then looked like a carbon copy of Hatsuharu from the Fruits Basket anime. Really! Same hair and everything!! I wonder what would happen in Danny had black and white personalities like Haru...hmm, another fanfic idea...too bad I don't write fanfics...
Another reason I did this was an excuse to A: draw Danny's redesign from the Micro-Management episode, and B: draw Dash. He's actually a lot of fun to draw. He doesn't really have an evil look to him, just a dumb jock look. I purposfully botched his figure; if you'll notice, his upper-half is an entirely different size than his lower half. Ths is because when I got a good look at him in the series, I realized he had twinkle-toes and girlie legs. O_o. Oh yeah, REAL macho football player. -_- Seriously, the guy's a ballerina from the waist down! Always eager to mock dumb jocks, I kinda implied that in my art. I toned the difference down quite a bit though, since having the proportions off by too far would be distracting.
Background was created from referencing the Micro-Management scene where they're at the window. I didn't bother with reflections in the glass, becuase when I tried them it looked...well, stupid. So I satisfied myself with actually having the characters' shadows on the ground. That's a first. ^_^
Something I noticed while working on this: Danny loses his ghost glow and echo voice after his pants change. THAT'S what had me thinking there was something weird about him! It wasn't the costume change, it was the fact that he was essentially Danny Fenton, only with green eyes, white hair, and a cooler T-shirt.
I started this about two weeks ago, but then realized half-way through coloring that I could do a Valentine's pic, and ditched it for that instead. Then after I finished the V-day pic, I came back to this...and didn't finish. Mainly because a few day's break from it made me realize that it's really not my best work. I'm not sure I got the figures right, especially with Danny. The poor guy suffers from my tendancy to draw feminine hands on less-macho guys. It took me another week to convince myself that hey, it's drawn, it's almost colored, just finish the dumb thing. So I did. And less perfect or not, I still like how it turned out.
